Have you missed your last few dental appointments and feel guilty about not visiting the dentist as often as you should? Well . . . not to worry! At Infinite Smile Dental, we understand that life can get busy, and we offer a nonjudgmental environment. Here's what you can expect from your return visit.
We’ll start your exam with dental X-rays, typically taken every two to three years. The specific X-rays needed will be based on your individual needs. Your X-rays will allow us to thoroughly examine your teeth and bone structure and identify dental problems.
Now, we utilize our iTero® intraoral scanner to scan your teeth to capture high-resolution 3-D images of your mouth, aiding in diagnosis, patient education, and treatment planning. The scans aid us in your diagnosis and treatment plan and allow my staff to show you any issues and provide education on any preventative actions you might take.
Next, I'll carefully examine your teeth, gums, and oral health. We'll also discuss your medical history and any concerns you might have. I will address any dental concerns found through my exam and your scan. We will finish by thoroughly cleaning and polishing your teeth, including removing any plaque buildup and flossing between your teeth. I will recommend any necessary treatment for any findings such as cavities, gum issues, wear from grinding, teeth staining, cracked teeth, or broken fillings. I can also answer any questions you may have regarding your oral health.
Once your exam is complete, you’ll visit the reception desk to discuss any payment due and make your next appointment for treatment acceptance or your next 6-month exam. My knowledgeable staff will guide you through this process, ensuring you understand your treatment plan and are comfortable with your next steps, and you’re done.
Your return visit is essential for maintaining your oral health. We get it–life gets busy, and sometimes dental appointments take a backseat. We've all been there! Missing a few visits doesn't make you a bad person and doesn't mean you can't start fresh. What matters is that you're thinking about your dental health now. We'd love to see you again and help you create a plan that works with your schedule. Our door is always open, and we'll be right here to support you–no judgment, just genuine care for your well-being.
Maintaining excellent oral health through regular exams and teeth cleanings is vital to your overall health. Research has shown the connection between oral health and overall health, highlighting the importance of preventive dental care in reducing risks associated with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, metabolic disorders, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, respiratory infections, and several cancers.
Your smile is connected to so much more than you might think. Think of your mouth as a window to your whole body's health. What happens here doesn't just affect your smile–it's connected to everything from your heart to your immune system.
